Audition Information

Advanced pre-professional students up to age twenty-one, who have graduated or are about to graduate from high school, may audition in person at any time during the year. In addition, if travel to the Academy in Narberth , Pennsylvania is not possible, arrangements can be made to submit a resume describing ALL vital statistics, training and dancing experience. Also a recently shot videotape and photos must accompany the resume.

Photos should be black and white, with size 5 by 7 inches or 8 ½ by 11 inches. The three photos should be:

• a close-up head shot;
• dressed only in pink tights and black leotard (no skirt or warmers), in pointe shoes with a pose in first arabesque on pointe; and
• a full-length view, standing in first position, facing directly toward the camera.

In addition, a brief (no longer than ten minutes) video (VHS format) must accompany the above three photos. If the student does not have any appropriate performance video material than class exercise material is acceptable. It is preferable that the student be dressed in pink tights and black leotard (no skirt or warmers). However, it is acceptable if some of the video is shown in costume.
